 Goodbye Schuster?

Rumours are flying around at the moment that Bernd Schuster is very close to being sacked from his position at Real Madrid CF. According to my sources Schuster had been given more than enough time to turn the team's fortunes around and it looks like the plug is about to get pulled. The only question that remains now is who will it be to replace Schuster? I can think of a few names that have been mentioned in the press.... Roberto Mancini, Juande Ramos and maybe just maybe a certain Catalan hero who won a Champions League trophy not too long ago..... Stay tuned faithful readers, business is about to pick up.

 AS' Interview with Robert Pires.

How they are after saying good-bye to the Cup?

We are sad because so much for us as for the club was a good objective.  Besides, this staff is prepared to play three competitions.  But in the departure before the Cop we fail all and now one must pass page.  In San Mamés, we play very well three days after that 5-0.  Therefore, now only we should think about the Malaga, that will be a rival complicated one, as already we could see in the Bernabéu.  The Cup has served to verify that the ones that less play do not seem to be to the same level that the remainder

All the footballers that there is in this staff are important.  We are a group of 23 players, the season is long and each one will have its opportunity.  Here we are not 13, 14 or 15 players, but 23.  That already we know it all after a chat that we had with the coach and in which remained all clear. Then, how does it explain the performance that are offering?

Is not true that that do not they have level.  To the players that are not cited or do not play with care I understand them because the competition lacks rhythm, that is normal.  When you play before a rival one as the Cop, the motivation is not the same one that if do it in the League or in the Champions League before the Manchester game.  The people should know that in this group there is not you differentiate.  We are 23 and each day can touch to some.  Thus it is like we will be able to win some thing.  He understands that the club is being presented the possibility to be reinforced?

For us, that is not a problem.  For the moment, all goes well, except the elimination of the Cup.  We go seconds in League and well in Champions, only a point lacks us to classify us.  I believe that we do not need reinforcements, but that one must speak it with the president, because is the one that sends.  Now, with so many internationals, that effort can also pass, no?

Sincerely, I believe that is good because a footballer needs to play.  In France, there is many people that cries with so many parties, but what we are doing he is not so hard.  We have the opportunity to enjoy on the land of play and, if he is each three days, better.

Real Union stun Real Madrid

Real Madrid have sensationally been eliminated from the Copa del Rey on the away goals rule by third division Real Union.

The Liga giants were still favourites to progress to the last 16 of the competition despite slipping to a surprise 3-2 away defeat in the first leg.

Veteran forward Raul did all he could do on the night with a hat-trick, but Eneko Romo's last-minute goal was enough to ensure a 4-3 defeat and 6-6 aggregate success on away goals for the minnows.

Paul Abasolo had given the Basque club the initiative 14 minutes in, although Raul equalised before half time after catching out Edouard with a header.

Although Asier Salcedo put the visitors back in front shortly after the break Raul was again there to thwart them just two minutes later.

Youth ace Alberto Bueno gave Real Madrid their first lead on the night in the 68th minute and Raul's third looked to have secured passage in the closing stages.

However, there was one final sting in the tail as Romo popped up in the final seconds of the game to dump out the Spanish giants.
